24.04.2018: Preparations for the spring steaming days

In the last few days, members have had their hands full. The maintenance work on various vehicles went into the final round so that the locomotives would be ready for operation for our forthcoming event at the beginning of May. The main boiler inspection on 50 3570 was completed, while the connecting rods, which transmit the power from the steam cylinders to the driving axles, also still had to be mounted.

On 50 3682, the driver's cab floor and the fireman's side wall were renewed.



In addition, the injector pump was refurbished.



A boiler inspection was also carried out on this locomotive.

On diesel locomotive 60022 the motor hood was readjusted.



Our steam loco Emma came back from treatment in the eastern Harz. She was delivered to Wittenberge by low-loader onApril 23.



Going in the other direction, diesel locomotive 0606, formerly of the Osthannoversche Eisenbahn, left us and in future will be used on shunting duties in an industrial plant in Schleswig-Holstein.
