05.01.2019: Tracklaying in the locoshed

As we wrote in December, a number of our members are now tackling the tracklaying in No. 1 road in the locoshed. After removing the covering panels between the rails, the service pit underneath was partly exposed, enabling us to inspect the pit walls and the sleepers underneath the rails. Unfortunately, it turned out that in some places the sleepers were completely rotten.



It was therefore decided to excavate the pit a little deeper, remove the rails altogether and change all the sleepers. Since there are no longer any fittings available to fix the old rails to the new sleepers, at the same time we will be laying new rails, for which there are still fixing materials available.
