Our little steam locomotive Emma has reliably served the museum for the last seven years and is now a great favourite with the children. In order for the 92-year-old loco to continue to operate, however, she now needs some rejuvenation here or there. Since the facilities to carry out the necessary work in Wittenberge are not adequate, the locomotive will be taken to MaLoWa in Benndorf, on the eastern edge of the Harz mountains at the month-end May/June 2017. After a detailed examination, work will be done on the chassis and the boiler. How long the work will take cannot be estimated at present, but we hope hope that Emma will be back in Wittenberge for the autumn event in October 2017.
